Creating a New Project: SOFT Files
SOFT format files are availble from various databases, such as PlexDB and GEO. These files contain all the data MetaOmGraph needs, albeit in a somewhat slow-to-read format. However, MetaOmGraph can convert these files to a more "MOG-Friendly" format, and use them just as it would any regular delimited text file.
There are three sections to this dialog:
| Files | Determines which SOFT files to include in the project. Any number of files can be used as long as all series/samples use the same platform. Use the + and - buttons to add and remove files, or add files by dragging and dropping them onto the dialog. |
| Row IDs | Displays row identifiers retrieved from the platform description. Check the "Include" box next to an identifier to include that identifier in the Project Data Window. |
| Destination Data File Name | MetaOmGraph will parse the included SOFT files and rewrite the data into a format it can easily read. After a SOFT file is added to the file list, this field will display a default destination file. To output the file elsewhere, click the Browse button. |
Once all the options have been set, click the OK button to begin parsing. For large/multiple files, this can take a while. However, this only needs to be done once; the destination file (as set in the dialog) can be used for any future operations.
