Metadata Sort
The metadata sort feature is used to search the current project's metadata, and move columns that meet specified criteria to the start of the plot.
A "condition" is defined by three fields:
-
Field: The metadata field to search. -
Is/Contains: If this field is "is", columns will only match this condition if the specified field matches the specified text exactly. If this field is "contains", columns will match this condition if the specified text appears anywhere in the specified field. -
Text: The text to match.
The More and Fewer buttons are used to increase and decrease the number of conditions. In additon, the Match all of the follwing and Match any of the following options specify how many of the conditions a column has to meet to be considered a match. If Match all is selected, the column must meet every condition to be included. Otherwise, the column will be included if it matches one or more conditions.
If the sort in the screenshot were run, only columns from short-day experiments involving the col-0 genotype of arabidopsis would be considered hits.
Once you've created a sort, it can be saved using the controls on the left of the dialog.
